LaceyDavid Lacey’s work has been described as “painterly impressionism.”  Composition and play of light are essential elements which reflect the French Impressionists’ influence.
His use of color reflects nature’s vibrancy and exemplifies his years of experience.

Born in Woodville, Kings County, Nova Scotia, he was encouraged by his family to draw and paint from an early age.  He attended Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax.  David has been a photographer, watercolorist and “plein air” painter.

LaceyNova Scotia is rich in subject matter for this landscape and seascape artist.  For the past several years, David had wintered in Florida where he finds inspiration to create new works.  David is considered a prolific painter who tries to capture subjects of beauty and harmony without being maudlin or trite.

David Lacey’s work is featured in the new David Lacey Gallery at Hall’s Harbour as well as the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Argyle Fine Art  in Halifax and the Harvest Gallery in Wolfville, The L2 Gallery in Seaside Florida and the Koyman Galleries in Ottawa, Ontario.  David’s work is in private and corporate collections all over the world.
